PSB VisionSound 300 Speaker System and Marantz SR8500 A/V Receiver:
Satellite Sensitivity: 83.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the VS300 satellite (purple trace) and SubSonic 5i subwoofer (blue trace). The passive loudspeaker was measured with grill at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input. The VS300's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +3.78/–2.58 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +3.94/–1.84 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz when used horizontally. The –3-dB point is at 68 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 57 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.05 ohms at 200 Hz and a phase angle of –27.45 degrees at 132 Hz. The SubSonic 5i's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 32 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 29 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 116 Hz with the LFE input switch set to Active.—MJP
