Canton Chrono Series Speaker System:
L/R Sensitivity: 90.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz Center Sensitivity: 91 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz Surround Sensitivity: 89.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the 507 DC L/R (purple trace), AS 525 SC subwoofer (blue trace), 505 center channel (green trace), and 502 surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes. The 507 DC’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.63/–2.48 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 59 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 51 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.07 ohms at 227 Hz and a phase angle of +29.08 degrees at 76 Hz. The 505’s listening-window response measures +1.55/–3.30 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.54/–3.53 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 78 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 63 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.94 ohms at 216 Hz and a phase angle of –31.06 degrees at 136 Hz. The 502’s listening-window response measures +1.00/–4.60 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 67 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 52 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.68 ohms at 216 Hz and a phase angle of –32.80 degrees at 114 Hz. The AS 525 SC’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 35 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 32 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 166 Hz with the Crossover control set to maximum and the Room Compensation switch set to Normal.—MJP
