JVC TH-F3 DVD Digital Theater System:
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the SP-THF3F L/R (purple trace) and SP-THF3W subwoofer (blue trace). The L/R loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter using the included amplifier and scaled for display purposes. Please note that the proprietary hard-wired connectors used on this system precluded many of our usual tests. The SP-THF3F’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +10.66/–2.94 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and (+/–15-degree) horizontal responses measures +10.54/–2.89 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 170 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 162 Hz. The SP-THF3W’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 39 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 36 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 119 Hz.—MJP
