This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the L/R (purple trace), subwoofer (blue trace), center channel (green trace), and surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes. The integrated equalization and crossover of the matching electronics are included in the speaker measurements. The L/R’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.54/–2.66 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 93 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 80 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.58 ohms at 7.2 kHz and a phase angle of –53.16 degrees at 111 Hz. Sensitivity averages 85 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz. The center’s listening-window response measures +0.41/–2.96 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.15/–3.99 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 118 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 96 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.46 ohms at 7.1 kHz and a phase angle of –53.65 degrees at 111 Hz. Sensitivity averages 84 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz. The surround’s listening-window response measures +1.65/–2.75 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 102 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 92 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 7.37 ohms at 188 Hz and a phase angle of –51.77 degrees at 114 Hz. Sensitivity averages 80 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz. The subwoofer’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 25 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 20 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 96 Hz. Crosstalk at 1 kHz driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load was –81.50 dB left to right and –80.25 dB right to left. THD+N from the amplifier was less than 0.006 percent at 1 kHz when driving 2.83 volts into an 8-ohm load. The signal-to-noise ratio with 2.83 volts driving an 8-ohm load from 10 Hz to 24 kHz with “A” weighting was –107.49 dBrA.—MJP
