Sherwood Gets Tough on Pricing Bookmark and Share
September 3, 2009 — Looking for sweet a/v receiver deals on the internet? You'll find some, but the Sherwood R-972 and R-904N won't be among them.

Sherwood has implemented what it calls a unilateral minimum resellers pricing policy. If dealers don't hew to the manufacturer's minimum advertised and resale pricing, their supply of the two hot new models will be cut off.

This might be especially painful in the case of the long-awaited R-972, the first consumer product to use Trinnov Optimizer room correction. We've heard Trinnov produce extraordinary results at trade show demos and can't wait to review it when it becomes available, probably soon.

The R-904N NetBoxx receiver streams audio and video either from a PC or from the internet. It includes Dolby Volume, a low-volume listening mode that evens out the levels of source components and tames the extreme dynamics of movie soundtracks.
